Log 011
Our crew has successfully touched down on Relcore, and the survey unit has been deployed. The planet's citizens seem more curious than upset towards our arrival, openly gawking at our technology. While the amount of attention isn't ideal in my eyes, the lack of hostility gives me hope for our mission.
While the secondary team sets up camp near the forest's outskirts, myself and the primary team will attempt to locate, contact, and begin negotiating with Relcore's guardian. With luck, our people will be taken out of exile and allowed to commute and trade with Relcore after our visit.
We've also brought a survey unit, which our engineers are working on deploying as we speak. It will be set to roam and collect as much data as possible until we depart. Hopefully, we can use its findings to recreate Relcore's conditions back home and bring life to the barren wasteland. Barring that, the data may hold answers to other, smaller issues our people face.
The primary team seems to be ready to depart now. I will continue to upload updates of current affairs to the survey unit's drive until we return home.

The negotiations have been completed, and we have been allowed to establish a trade network between our planets over the coming months. Relcore's guardian has also graciously put in a good word with the other planets' guardians. If the negotiations with the other guardians goes this smoothly, then we may be able to restore contact with all four planets before a full rotation passes.
In the coming days, we will restock our supplies and embark to Atquati to begin our next round of negotiations. According to the Relcore guardian, although she is the kindest of the planets' guardians, she is fiercely protective of her people. While our struggle with Relcore's guardian was finding him, it seems hers will be convincing her that we are trustworthy.
However, that's all something to think about come tomorrow. Tonight, our crew plans to celebrate our success. We have even recalled the survey unit to join us. The samples and data it has collected thus far have been enlightening, so I believe it deserves to participate as well.
Atquati may prove to problematic for it, as it is not waterproof. Unless the mechanics can build something to remedy this issue before we arrive there, we may have to settle for having it only explore the planet's islands, and leave the depths for a different visit.
Judging by the commotion outside of my tent, our crew seems to have begun the festivities. I'd rather not keep them waiting, so I shall sign off for now and join them.

Evidently, the mechanics weren't able to upgrade the survey unit in time for our arrival. As such, it will be dropped off at an island each day and relocated the following morning. It's tedious, and rather costly in terms of fuel, but there's no other option if we wish to have a diverse selection of data from Atquati.
We met with Atquati's guardian earlier today. It seems that the Relcore guardian's word has made her willing to hear us out. Whether she would have been interested without it is unknown, but that is ultimately pointless speculation at this point.
While today's meeting was introductory and of little note, we have been warned that a storm is expected to form in a little over a week. According to Atquati's guardian, they're harsh, and often for last days at time. I will have to speak with our engineers and see if fortifying our base is an available option. If not, we may have to cut our visit short and wait out the storm on another planet, as we do not have the fuel needed to idle in the planet's orbit.
I hope the rest of the crew doesn't panic when I inform them. Rain is uncommon on Uldavi, let alone violent storms. It's been years since many of us have even seen it, so to say we're unprepared for it would be an understatement.
We're getting close to the base now. I'll give an update on our plans as soon as I can.

Log 056
The storm is almost upon us. We unfortunately don't have the means to adequately prepare for it. Given the planet's vast ocean, I have been told that attempting to stay for it would be ill-advised even if we did, given our unfamiliarity with its intensity and movement patterns. We will be embarking to Scria in three days time.
Atquati's guardian was thankfully understanding towards our reason for pausing our negotiations, and we have promised to return and resume them after finishing our negotiations with Scria's guardian. While staying within the planet's orbit and returning after the storm clears would be preferred, we simply don't have the fuel to keep the ship idling for days, so moving to another planet is a necessity.
Our crew has been debating whether or not we should leave the survey unit here for the storm. If it is able to find shelter, then having it monitor the weather and its effects may be beneficial. However, there is a high chance of it malfunctioning if it fails to do so, as it'll doubtlessly be exposed to more rain than it's equipped to handle.
Personally, I believe we should take it with us. While I understand our obsession with the unit's data given how rich in life these planets are compared to our own, it doesn't justify taking a needless risk like this, as we don't have another survey unit to replace ours if anything happens to it. Leaving it would also mean that we would be unable to collect any data for Scria, as our limited fuel would make a return trip to Atquati and another return trip to Scria problematic.
I will attempt to convince the crew members who are against retrieving the unit otherwise, before it is too late to do so.

I managed to get the crew's dissenters onboard with retrieving the survey unit. However, we were unable to locate it before the storm was upon us, hence why this log is analog.
When the initial group sent to retrieve it came back empty-handed, the entire crew headed to Atqueen forest, the unit's last known whereabouts. We combed the area as best as we could, but the forest is a seemingly endless labyrinth that turned us around more times than we could count. Even after multiple days of searching, we found absolutely no trace of the survey unit.
Since the unit was disconnected from our servers during the storm, we assume that it wasn't able to find adequate shelter in time. It's doubtful that the unit could even be repaired if we found it at this point, given the amount of damage it likely sustained and our limited resources.
We will keep an eye out for it when we return to Atquati, but unless we see a miracle, I'm afraid that we'll have to finish our work without it.
