It's cold out, snowing.
We aren't here, of course.
But we decided to take a trip to Alaska. ;D
They have all the options of hiking trails but we walk past those along the edge of a forest.
It's dark in there and we have no light, but the moonlight that occasionally peeks through the clouds shows us a way.
I hold your right hand in both of mine, trailing along behind you.
It's peaceful, there are no sounds except for our breathing.
We walk for a while, needing no words, although locking eyes frequently, conveying messages only we understand.
Your head snaps to the right, to the forest, suprising me and I gasp.
You stand for a minute listening, then turn and smile at me reassuring me.
I release a relieved sigh and blush with a sheepish smile.
You start to pull into the heart if the forest but I stay behind.
You turn around, eyes full of questions.
I laugh softly and shake my head, letting you hand go.
Slightly hurt and bewildered you stand there.
I laugh again, "Go on, Love. I won't be far behind."
You start to walk away, very slowly, still watching me with curious eyes.
I stand on my toes and kiss you deeply, giggling lightly.
I catch you off guard and this time it's you who blushes.
I push you off with a gentle shove, and you reluctantly go along.
I watch you go, blissful in this natural, beautiful white world.
You're walking, for it was a fox you heard, or thought you did and you want to catch a glimpse of it.
It's suprisingly bright out, and the air is clean, crisp.
You close your eyes and stand still for a moment, just breathing in the air, the environment, the world.
All of a suddden you hear a quiet whistle, then WHAM!
A small snowball smacks you on the back of the head.
You shriek, eyes flashing open and jump around.
I'm halfway behind a tree, laughing so hard that I fall into a patch of ferns.
Realization dawns upon you and a determined look falls on your face.
I'm just getting out of the ferns, still laughing to myself, and by the time I look up it's too late.
You tackle me to the floor, somehow twisting in midair so that I land on top of you.
You start cracking up as we land, your laugh echoing through the trees.
My mouth still wide open sets into a mock-angry pout.
I beat your chest with my fists but it just makes you laugh harder.
"Oh, *** it, Andrew." I cross my arms, and attempt at giving you a glare.
But just watching the snow fall on your face, land in your hair, and you looking at me with the silliest grin melts me.
You kiss me ever so softly and pull me closer, "Aw, Karri. Don't be like that." You kiss me again, longer this time.
I rest my forehead on yours, and curl my fingers in your hair.
Your arms are winding around me, your body supporting mine.
I sigh, and your eyes search mine, asking for an explantion.
I kiss you twice, "Don't ever let me go, darling..."
Your take my face in yours and stare at me for a while.
The corner of my mouth turns down, "I couldn't live without you."
You kiss me once more, "You'll never have to," I hear you say, your lips brushing mine.
I bury my face in your neck and wrap my arms around you neck and whisper, "Then I shall live forever."
