English Only
Staff cannot speak every language and we need to know what you are saying so we can effectively moderate, because of this, languages other than English are not allowed.
No SPAM
SPAM includes:
1. Posts composed entirely of or excessively using CAPS LOCK.
2. Advertising more than once in 30 minutes. (This includes but is not limited to: Shop ads, thread ads, give-away ads, contest ads, etc.)
3. One word/character posts. Make an effort to give your posts depth.
4. Gibberish posts such as "lksadjfa" and "2983742."
5. Excessive use of punctuation/letters, such as: "Omg!!!!!", "Hiiiiii", "WuTz UpPp!?!?"
6. Repeating identical/similar messages in succession.
7. Misuse of text formatting, such as: excessively using bold, strike-through, underline and/or italics.
8. Posts consisting of only smileys or posts with excessive use of smileys.
9. Contrary to popular belief, stating that SPAM is "not SPAM" at the end of a post does not stop it from being SPAM.
No Swearing/Inappropriate Language
1. Words such as "damn", "hell", and "crap" may be used so long as they are NEVER directed in a rude or derogatory way.
ACCEPTABLE: "All of my hatches were crap today." UNACCEPTABLE: "You're a piece of crap!"
3. Using asterisks or spaces to hide a portion of a word is thinly veiled swearing and will be treated as such.
4. Abbreviations/acronyms which reference curses will be treated as a curse.
No Explicit Sexual Discussions
Discussion of sexual orientation is OK as long as it remains entirely separate from the act of sex. Graphic details are prohibited, innuendos are not OK. You will receive an instant ban if you are found being inappropriate. Common sense is guidance enough on this subject.
No Harassment
Be respectful and courteous to your fellow players. Malicious behavior will not be tolerated.
Do Not Engage Trolls
Engaging individuals who purposely cause trouble or say controversial things to start a fight (troll) will put you in the wrong and may result in a warning or ban. If you find a player to be unnecessarily rude or offensive, do not fight back. Report the situation immediately, and let staff handle the situation.
No Mini-modding
Mini-modding includes warning others and/or telling them what they can and cannot do. Staff do not need echoes or guidance. If a player is breaking the rules, submit a Support Ticket with evidence of the player's misconduct. It is great you want to help but it is always best for staff to handle these situations.
Please also keep in mind:
- When staff distribute a warning or ban, comments are unnecessary. Please refrain from commenting.
- Staff from any department (Admin, Support, Writers, Artists, Content Mangers and Developers) has the power to remind you of the rules and officially warn you if you refuse to obey. In some cases non-support have the right and power to ban you from the Shout Box.
You must be 13 years or older if you wish to use the Shout Box
By law, players under the age of 13 cannot use the Shout Box until they reach the appropriate age or provide parental consent. It is an important matter of safety.
Never ask for or give out Personal Information
For your own safety, do not ask for or give out last names, addresses, schools, phone numbers, or any other personal information under any circumstances. Giving out or asking for personal information will result in your account being banned, no questions asked. You are not entitled to give out or ask for such information on this website and are putting the safety of yourself and other players at risk.
If you give out information about another player, including photos, you will be immediately removed from the website, permanently.
- It is OK to ask for another player's country/state, gender, age, or nickname.
- If you want another player's email, ask through Rmail.
- All players have the right to decline answering any and all personal questions.
Support Tickets/Reports- To the best of your ability, provide exact quotes and unedited screen-shots of what you are reporting so that staff may assess the situation properly.
- If a situation gets out of hand and no staff is present, please refrain from worsening it by retaliating against the offending player. Ignore them.
No Role-playing in the Shout Box
Role-playing (RP) has a forum of its own. If you wish to RP, go there.
The following are examples of EXCESSIVE and prohibited role-play:
"Buy from my rancher shop." Said the young player to the others.
I am a fire breathing dragon! *breathes fire on everyone and destroys the village* Now you all must listen to me! Haha!
The following are subtle and inoffensive, you may use them:
*Kicks computer* Stupid thing is lagging.
*Tap dances* I got an A+ on my test!
Do Not Advertise Competing Websites
Discussing websites in a manner such as "My username/ID is _____ on _____", or showing off your prized possessions is okay, so long as it is kept moderately brief, does not link directly to the website and does not overwhelm the Shout Box. We offer two forums in which you may create a thread to discuss other websites as much as you would like. Feel free to use the Off-Topic or Fan Clubs forums for such purposes.
What we do not allow is advertisements of any sort for them.
This includes:
- links of any kind (including referral links and shop links)
- urging others to join
- asking users to purchase from your shop/offer on your trades
Do Not Hold Contests or Auctions in the Shout Box
Much like role-playing, we do allow contests and auctions on the website; however, they are not to be held on the Shout Box. It causes severe lag and makes it difficult for players to hold conversations and for staff to moderate.
Contests are to be held in the Contest forum.
Auctions should be kept to the appropriate auction house or forum.
